The Young Marines of Northwest Ohio held a graduation ceremony for their first recruit class on December 19, 2006.  Four recruits participated in the awards night ceremony, and joined the ranks of the other Northwest Ohio Young Marines.  The recruits particpated in a 26 hour "boot camp" which focused on Young Marine basics such as close order drill, rank structure, proper wearing of the uniform and Marine Corp history.  With their first recruit class completed, the Northwest Ohio unit received a permanent charter from the National Headquarters, in Washington DC.
